Where do you want to arrive? “To the easel every morning.”

Developed as a painter in Seville, the city where he lives. Multiple individual, national as well as international expositions. His brushstrokes full of paint (oil), direct, dynamic, free, pure and expressionistic, Sánchez establishes his own language from personal experience. Matías creates out of necessity, he finds his protagonists everywhere. His themes vary, but certain icons are repeated with symbolic value.

The actual exposition “ARCHIPELAGO” contains some Canary elements. Without abandoning ever his resolved and sure way of painting, the artist is able to achieve very diverse genres; from an abstract landscape to the geometric cubism of his figures, where his anonymous characters represent the present society.
