Jörg Plickat is coming from the figurative sculpture. This might be surprising on the first view, but if one studies his artwork for a while, it is shown that his sculptures mimic the human proportions.  After Academy he studied figurative sculpture in depth for some years, taking it as a starting point to express his reduced formal language, which characterizes his works.
